Charles “Kenny” Deaton, 83, of Moline, died Sunday, April 21, 2024 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island. A funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the KNOX CHAPEL of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Knox Chapel. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made in care of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island.
Kenny was born in Tuckerman, Arkansas on October 31, 1940, a son of William K. and Beulah West Deaton. He married Barbara Ann Stephens on November 13, 1959 at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2018.
Kenny worked 30 ½ years for John Deere Harvester and retired as an inspector.
Kenny was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island. He was an avid hunter and fishermen.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Steven (Tammy) Deaton, Moline, IL and Scott (Jennifer) Deaton, Colona, IL; grandchildren, Brett, Melissa, Allison, Nicholas, Olivia, Carter and Julian; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandson, Brian Deaton, great-grandson, Waylen Deaton and siblings, Helen Shottner, William Deaton, Paul Deaton, William Deaton Jr., Billy Jo Deaton and Peggy Clayton.
